Parents and Community Members, As a School District, we want to share our thoughts, condolences, and support for our students, staff, families, and neighbors who were impacted by the storm on Friday night. As Crawford County begins the recovery process, Oblong Schools will work to support the needs of our community and our neighbors. We plan to be in session tomorrow. Our school buildings and properties are undamaged and all utilities are running. With that being said, if your student is unable to attend due to the storm we understand. Under the advice of the Crawford County Health Department, we will only be using bottled water on Monday and until further notice due to a boil order. Please send your child with a bottle of water if possible. We will have bottled water available for students and staff. We want to make everyone aware of a resource that is available to them. Regional Office of Education 12 and our local school districts have access to grant resources to assist any of our students whose homes or living arrangements have been impacted by the storm. This includes assistance with clothing, toiletries, school supplies, and any other items that may be necessary. Regional Office of Education 12 has set up a hotline to coordinate these needs for all of the Crawford County schools. You may call or text (618) 421-5461. You may also email ccschoolshelp@gmail.com. We will need a contact number, name and school for each student, and specific clothing and supply needs (including sizes where applicable). Sincerely, Michelle Meese
